A young little orphan child living alone in a makeshift tent before she was rescued

Vinitha was rescued by one of the staff in 2018. Her father was unemployed and had a habit of alcoholism and used to physically abuse the wife and children. The mother unhappy with the torture moved out of the place along with children and made her house in another area. She too was unwell due to her unhealthy habits of alcohol dependency.

Vinitha then lost her father to alcoholism and TB. The mother although ill with same illness like the husband, took care of the children until she too passed away.

When the child was first identified, the mother was still alive and had told about her hardships and illness to which she desperately wanted to her children to live in a safe place after her.

By the time the child was rescued and brought to the CCI the following week, the mother had passed away, Vinitha and her sister were seen living in a make-shift settlement alone and would go begging for their survival.

Vinitha did not clearly remember her past and all information sought during induction were narrated by her sister. It was learnt that the child has 8 siblings of which 6 share the same biological father and other 2 are step sister and brother. All sibling details were sought. One of her siblings died at a young age due to an accident and another passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 16

On doing medical checkups, it was reported that all siblings except Vinutha were HIV positive. So they are all now in a Cavalry home. Going through hardships at such a tender age, Vinitha finally found her home in Sanrakshan.

A school dropout, she did not know reading and writing. She worked hard in the bridge course program here and mainstreamed herself to age-appropriate classes and is doing good in academics too, now does her homework and other things independently.

She knows what is good for her and what she should not do. She takes time to calm herself down and is well aware of her emotions, Vinitha always works consistently to be her best self. Her unstoppable courage and strong willpower have made her take on life, winning every battle she chooses to fight.
